Winter Scene #1

Winter Scene #1

These prints reach back to my earlier days with large format photography. I was just beginning¬† to educate myself on the in’s and out’s of the “big box”. Shooting anything and everything, I ventured out into some of the few local woods in the dead of winter. I had Ansel on my mind and his etheric snowy works from Yosemite. I’ve recently unearthed some of my geniuses negatives and now, with a more experienced set of hands, have begun printing them. This is the first: Winter Scene #1.

Winter Scene #1 8×10. (Matte not included)

Shot with the Zone VI 4×5 field camera on Ilford Delta 100. Paper is 8×10 inch(20x25cm) Arista Fiber Base Gloss. Developed in a 1:3 Kodak Dektol solution. The finished print was then toned in a 1:3 Selenium solution for maximum archival life. Archival cleansing was achieved using my custom-made archival washer before a final bath/rinse in a 1:4 dilution of Kodak Hypo-Clear. Print longevity is approximately 100 years with appropriate mounting conditions.

Each print is stamped, titled, and dated for the time of printing.
