“Cottonwood Creek” Limited Edition Collector’s Print-20″x30″
At the time this photograph was made southern California was on fire. The smoke lingering from acres of wildfires left the air muddled with a perpetual haze. A softness was imparted through disaster and the landscape was left with a feeling of surrealistic beauty.
This photo is from Upper Cottonwood Creek just outside of Hollister, California. The scene was one of gold with the grasses being tinder dry. The cottonwood trees shown nearly black silhouettes against the rolling hills. This grouping of trees pulled me towards them with a sense of inherent quietness.
The photograph is a digitally captured black and white and exhibits a painterly viewing of an equally painterly scene. The broad grayscale offers an enormously diverse tonal palette with detail being presented across virtually all values while still offering exquisite contrast. Each photo is printed on Canson® Infinity Baryta Photographique. Baryta is a white, satin finished paper and is barium coated while of course being acid-free; similar to Ilford Gold Fiber Silk. This exacting paper was selected for it’s superb tonal rendition, durability and capacity for maintaining beautifully deep shadows.
You are viewing a limited run of FIVE 20″x30″ (50.8×76.2cm) photographs; signed and numbered by the photographer. This sizing and paper combination WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF THIS PRINTING. Overall dimensions include a 2″(5.08cm) white mounting border.
